Rivotorto is a fraction of the town of Assisi (PG).

Located at the foot of monteSubasio (211 m asl), Rivotorto just 3 km fromthe city of Assisi and has 1284 inhabitants (data Istat2001), making it one of the most populated parts of the territory. In folklore and in neighboring towns, the country is also known by the name of Rigobello.

History

The name derives from the revolution, a stream far from linear (wrong, wrong) that runs close to the shrine itself.
