Spello is a town of 8585 inhabitants in the province of Perugia in Umbria.
Lies at the foot of Mount Subasio and is about 5 km from Foligno and 35 from Perugia. The area of the town lies in the mountains, hills and plains. Its land is very fertile land is cultivated with cereals, vines and olive trees. Spello, and from the plant that gets its most valuable delicacy: the extra virgin olive oil. No coincidence that the city, in addition to being counted among the most beautiful villages in Italy, is part of the National Association of Oil City.
Are held weekly markets and burgeoning folk events, among which is reminiscent of the Flower Festival and the Feast of Corpus Christi oil, which are held respectively during May-June and December to January. In the town there are numerous works of Roman and Renaissance art, in fact, the church of Santa Maria Maggiore, the largest of Spello, boasts splendid frescoes by Pinturicchio, stored inside Cappella Baglioni.
